W Connection received a shocker on Tuesday night at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium after they were held 1-1 against newcomers FC South End in Round Two Match Day Two of the 2009 Digicel Pro League.

Hughton Hector gave the Stewart Charles Fevrier coached team the lead in the 27th minute but Anthony Haynes’ second half item in the 56th minute levelled the scores and held out till the end as both teams shared points.

“We dominated that game,” said Fevrier on Thursday.

“But we’re probably soured at the moment,” he continued in a disappointed tone. “We missed some chances and in the end finished with a draw.”

W Connection are eight on the League standings after two matches, one spot ahead of South End, both with one point each to their names.

“We have to give South End credit. They fought hard for the point. They are a new team but there are a lot of players in their squad who have played at this level before.”

With the 2009 season compacted into Two Rounds and a Big Six phase, Fevrier is aware that there is now room for slip-ups.

“The League has started well. I always have confident in the League and it’s only for the crowds to start supporting. We are only with one point at the moment after two matches and it means that we have to keep winning."
