“We will be coming much more serious,” said W Connection coach Stewart Charles Fevrier on Thursday ahead of his team’s CFU Club Champions Cup semifinal against fellow Pro League outfit San Juan Jabloteh.

Connection and Jabloteh will meet on Friday from 7:30pm at the Marvin Lee Stadium in the second semi-final. And in the earlier semi-final from 5pm, Puerto Rico Islanders will take on Haitian club Tempete FC.

Connection suffered a 2-1 defeat against Jabloteh in Round One Match Day One in the Digicel Pro League last Friday but this time Fevrier assures it will be the same.

“I think we had the better game but dropped in concentration for periods and that cost us (against Jabloteh),” said the St Lucian. “We have to learn from our mistakes and not let it happen again.”

“Matches between W Connection and Jabloteh are always tough matches and the results can go anywhere. We have made mistakes in our last match against them but it wouldn’t happen again. We have aspirations to win the CONCACAF Champions League this year and we will be going all out.”

Connection may also be boosting security between their uprights on Friday with the much experienced Marvin Phillip ahead of Dominican Republic goalie Miguel Lloyd. Lloyd has been good for southerners during their CFU campaign however Fevrier will want the safer option.

Fevrier also believes that the meeting with Jabloteh is a bit too early, wishing that it would have been in the final of the CFU tournament.

“We would have much preferred to meet Jabloteh in the final. That would have assured that one of us win the final. But these draws are out of our control and we have to accept it. Also we are on a tight schedule and we have very little time to prepare...the same for Jabloteh but I’m sure we will go out and give great performances.”
